Entry Level Requirements:
Grade 10 or equivalent
Basic understanding of mathematics and physical science
Prior welding experience or completion of a basic welding course Physical fitness and good hand-eye coordination
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Skills Obtained:
1. Proficiency in various welding techniques, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG).
2. Ability to perform welds on different materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys.
3. In-depth knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as ASME, AWS, and ISO. Skills in reading and interpreting complex welding blueprints and technical drawings.
4. Understanding of welding safety protocols and practices to prevent accidents and ensure workplace safety.
5. Techniques for ensuring weld quality, including visual and non-destructive testing methods.
6. Advanced skills in welding inspection and quality control.
